New Evolutions in Modern Day Health & Wellness
March 24, 2019 // Wellness
The science behind modern day health & wellness is ever-changing. Principles and rules we once respected to be law are being adjusted, and even abandoned. What we thought we knew is being reconsidered, and so must our practices.
Take the Calorie, for example. When it comes to weight management, the rule is simple: Calories In vs. Calories Out. What you eat compared to what you spend. One formula, and the rest is just details.
Well… that’s changing. Deeper scientific research and decades of controlled studies are proving that influences such as the speed of the caloric absorption, temperature of the food, combination of the macronutrients, presence of fiber, bacteria present in your gut, timing of the intake, along with other factors all contribute to weight management. So much for simple math.
This article series is a highlight to what is becoming outdated, and to the new ways we can preserve and progress our health and wellness.
